Through
donations and past memorabilia of MedicineBear's... The family of MedicineBear
has established a mini museum on his behalf to educate the public. Many of
the items were medicines himself or things he made and items he had in his life.
Other things were donated by various members of Bearland or friends. In a
rugged, old-fashioned way items are displayed throughout a one room facility adjoining
the trading post section. The family and friends of MedicineBear have put
together a little room chockfull of stuff for viewing in the summer months. Animals...Authentic
Native Items.. handmade items.. musical instruments, antiques and more can be
found at Bearland's mini museum.
It is free to go through
Bearland's Museum and Exhibit. Bearland does accept donations which Bearland depends on for support and upkeep to keep doors
open. Bearland makes no profit off what we offer. All goes back into the
upkeep and so forth at Bearland. So we ask when you come into Bearland
or one of our Exhibits that you remember why you came. Out of curiosity
perhaps.... care and wonder. If you enjoyed the displays please make a
contribution or purchase something from our Trade
Post so we can continue to share what you saw and read with the world.
Also we help with
awareness of Native American issues. Remember when you see our displays that
there are yet people out there whom need your help. The first true
Americans. Pine Ridge and others. The people on reservations in our nation
who live in need of help daily. We ask that you keep this in mind and do what
you can to help and by visiting our friends at Blue
Feather Alliance and our native
help page. There are Native Americans and others out there whom need
your attention and we do what we can to share this type of news with you both on
and off the internet through our Exhibits/Museums and website and fliers and advertisements.
We have kept Bearland continuing because a beautiful man died and left to
us a legacy to pass on to you .We can not match or compare to his teachings yet
we try to the best of our ability to encourage the understandings of the past,
present and future native issues as well as Rustic Days gone by. We also
encourage and promote Humanitarism in which we devote much to Peace. We support
many issues including No War in Iraq as well as the stopping of Genocide of the
Native American cultures and language as well as the release of L. Peltier. We
also encourage support for Blue Feather Alliance in efforts of awareness
for them as they help the Lakota people of Pine Ridge S.D. Please see their
website at www.bluefeather.us
We support many sincere organizations too numerous to mention here that we allow
you to come to know at our Exhibits. At the Exhibits you will come to understand
the depth of our nourishing the education of the native culture as well as
days gone by and the issues of our present day and such through pass outs
that you can receive at our Exhibits or Bearland.
